In Short
Considering the owners are recent transplants from Louisiana, it should come as no surprise that this Galleria-area eatery boasts a friendly, come-as-you-are vibe and authentic dishes, plus frequent live jazz music and a pleasant outdoor patio. The menu features classic Cajun and Creole cuisine that smacks of secret family recipes: shrimp Creole, crawfish etouffee, New Orleans-style red beans and rice, spicy jambalaya, oxtails, short ribs, blackened fish and gumbo. Chicken and waffles, salads and po-boys round out the offerings. Lunch portions provide a better chance for cleaning your plate.

I heard from the horses mouth that this place is HORRIBLE. A group of my friends went there one night and all of their credit card numbers were stolen. WOW isn't that something. The management team is horrible and was very unconcerned about the situation. Maybe the entire establishment was in on the credit card fraud. If you plan to go which I hope not, please only bring cash. And please be prepared to spend $20-$30 before you walk in the door. Parking is a joke --$5, ladies--$5 and men--$10. Damn is this a restaurant or a club. Then they want you to order food and weak drinks. You will never catch my foot in the parking lot.

I've been to the Bayou 3 times. I was disappointed when i first went, as there weren't many people there. But the band was good. I've never experienced poor service the times I have been there. The food at this restaurant is really good. I've never tasted food like that before. If you don't like the service there, I suggest place an order to go. I think that everyone should experience a dish from the Bayou.
Pros: good food, and ambience
Cons: not many patrons
